The quickest way
Call (02) 9538 7842. For anything urgent — a limb on a roof, a split trunk, a tree across a driveway — ring rather than send a message. Emergency and storm work runs 24 hours, and the details are on the storm work page.
For quotes and bookings, a phone call during the working week gets an inspection scheduled fastest. If it is easier, use the form on this page and include the detail below.
What to tell us
- The address or at least the street. It tells us the council, the likely soil, and whether a truck can park.
- The tree. Species if you know it, height compared with the roofline, and whether it is alive, dead or damaged.
- What it is over. Lawn, roof, pool, glass, a neighbour's fence, a power line.
- The access route. Driveway, side gate and its width, rear lane, or no access at all.
- What you want. Removal, reduction, deadwooding, stump, or an opinion on whether it needs anything.
A photo from two angles saves a conversation. If you are near a power line, say so first — anything touching wires is Ausgrid's job before it is ours.
Before you book
If the tree is mature and you are in Waverley, Randwick or Woollahra, council consent is probably required. That is worth understanding before the quote rather than after, so read the permit guide. If you want to know where the number is likely to land, the cost guide explains the factors honestly.
Areas and services
We cover the Eastern Suburbs, with local notes for Bondi, Randwick, Coogee, Double Bay, Vaucluse, Maroubra, Paddington and Rose Bay on the service area pages. The work itself is described under services, and the common questions are on the FAQ page.
One thing worth repeating from the about page: this is a referral site, and the contractor who quotes your job is an independent business. Ask them for their insurance certificate before work starts.
Frequently asked questions
What should I include when I send an enquiry?
The suburb and street, roughly how tall the tree is compared with the house, what it is standing over, and how somebody gets from the street to the tree — driveway, side gate, rear lane or through the house. A photo with something in frame for scale is worth more than a paragraph of description.
How quickly will I hear back?
Normal enquiries are answered within a business day, and an inspection is usually booked within the same week. Emergency and storm callouts are handled by phone at any hour, and after a big weather event the queue is triaged by risk rather than by who rang first.
Do you charge for a site visit?
No. Inspections and quotes are free and there is no obligation. The only thing charged separately is a written arborist report, because that is a professional document prepared for a council application or a dispute rather than a sales visit.
